Easy Sugar Cookies

  Amount  Measure   Ingredient
--------  -------   --------------------------------
       1  cup       butter
     3/4  cup       sugar
       1            large egg, beaten
       1  tsp       vanilla
       2  cup       all purpose flour
       1  tsp       cream of tartar
     1/2  tsp       baking soda

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream sugar and butter together, add egg and vanilla.
Sift together flour, cream of tarter, and baking soda
and add to mixture.

Roll into balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press down with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.

Bake 12-15 minutes at 350.
