Au Gratin Potatoes

Total Time:  45 minutes to 1 hour
Preparation Time:  30 minutes

       Amount  Measure   Ingredient
       ------  -------   --------------------------------
            2   lb        potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
                          (roughly 5 cups)
            2   Tbl       melted butter or margarine
          1/2   tsp       salt
          1/4   tsp       black pepper
            1   cup       grated sharp cheddar cheese
          1/4   cup       fresh bread crumbs


Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.  Grease a 1 1/2 quart
casserole with butter.  Arrange sliced potatoes in layers.
Sprinkle with melted butter, salt, and pepper.  Top with grated
cheese and bread crumbs.


Bake 30 minutes, covered.  Uncover and bake an additional
15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
